The Bay Area Real Estate Council (BAREC) welcomed Jay St. Lawrence, Fund Legal Education Attorney to Tampa’s Centre Club on November 6th to present Seller & Private Financing After Dodd-Frank.  This comprehensive program addresses the notable complexity in non-bank financing in the wake of the 2010 Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

It was standing room only on November 7th when The Fund’s Maggie Thumberg presented eClosings and eNotarizations: The Title Transaction of the Future to the Jacksonville Area Real Estate Council.  The presentation generated a lively discussion of the changes in technology and law that will likely impact real estate attorneys in the near future.

Fund General Counsel Melissa Jay Murphy presented eClosings and eNotarizations: The Title Transaction of the Future to the North Dade & Beaches Real Estate Council on November 14th and shared her thoughts on how Fund Members need to prepare themselves for how this evolving technology and the laws to support it will transform the real estate settlement services industry.

The Central Florida Real Estate Attorneys’ Council welcomed Rick Singh, Orange County Property Appraiser to discuss Innovations in the Orange County Appraiser’s Office and the 2019 Outlook for Real Estate at their Annual Holiday Luncheon held at the Tap Room located at the historic Dubsdread Country Club on December 5th.

On December 6th, Mandy Seckinger with PropLogix presented Uncovering Unrecorded Debt & Municipal Liens to members of the Real Property Council of Volusia County.

The Broward Attorneys’ Real Estate Council held their Annual Holiday Party at the beautiful Lauderdale Yacht Club on December 11th.

Finally, the Jacksonville Area Real Estate Council closed out the year with a Holiday Beer Fest held December 20th at the Fishweir Brewery.  Festivities included games, beer-tasting and karaoke.  It was a great opportunity to gather with colleagues and their families to celebrate the holidays.
