On January 18th, the Southwest Florida Real Estate Council held it’s first event in Naples since the merger with the Naples Marco Area REC. It was the first REC event in Naples in 9 years, and it was standing room only. The event featured a presentation of Can You TRUST Your Homestead by Fund Senior Underwriting Counsel Ben Jepson. The program addressed issues involved with holding title to homestead property in a trust.
The Polk Area Real Estate Council held its Annual Meeting on February 2nd in downtown Lakeland. The meeting also featured a CLE presentation on Reverse Mortgages, presented by The Fund’s John “Jay” St. Lawrence.
Manuel Farach presented his Annual Real Estate & Business Case Law Update to a joint meeting of the North Dade & Beaches Real Estate Council and the South Miami-Dade Real Estate Council via ZOOM on February 8th.
The following day, the Attorneys’ Real Estate Council of Palm Beach County welcomed The Fund’s Linda Monaco, who presented Spot the Fraud.
The North Florida Association of Real Estate Attorneys, based in Gainesville, held a unique event on February 21st. The University of Florida Law School Mixer featured presentations by local attorneys whose practices range from transactional real estate, probate, and real estate litigation to environmental and land use, and provided law students a glimpse into their future opportunities. The event was co-sponsored by the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar.
