The North Dade & Beaches REC hosted their first event of the year on January 13th when they featured a program discussing various aspects of the PPP Loan Forgiveness Application, a topic of great importance to many law firms and title companies.
Florida ARECS: Bringing Members & Realtors® Together
Florida ARECS and The Fund are always ready to support our Real Estate Councils and their efforts to build relationships with their local Realtor® Associations.
Over the last few years, we have worked with Bay Area, Broward, Central Florida, Highlands, Jacksonville, Palm Beach, North Dade & Beaches, South Miami-Dade and Volusia RECs to host ad-hoc seminars, Law Symposiums and Legal Summits for the Realtors® Associations in their areas.

Realtor® News
On November 10th, Florida ARECS partnered with the Broward, Palm Beaches & St. Lucie Realtors’ Global Alliance to host our first ever International Real Estate Legal Update. The Global Alliance is a division of Broward, Palm Beaches & St. Lucie Realtors focused on empowering local agents to achieve success in the global real estate arena.

The Attorneys’ Real Estate Council of Palm Beach County collaborated with the 15th Circuit At-Large Member from the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar (RPPTL) to invite RPPTL members to the REC’s December 3rd Member Meeting. Over 100 attorneys attended a very timely presentation of Evictions: Where We Are and Where We’re Headed featuring Cindy Guerra, Chief Operating Officer of Courts & Official Records, Clerk of Court, Palm Beach County and Kathy Savor, Esq., Director of Court Operations, Clerk of Court, Palm Beach County.

We spend a considerable amount of time and effort in developing tools for REC Members to use in reaching out to Realtors®, however, we have not forgotten about the Consumer. Today’s digital world offers you a wide variety of opportunities to communicate with Buyers and Sellers directly. Here are a few of our most popular options that you can use to market your practice in person, using your website, an email drip campaign, print media and/or social media.

Marketing Video Library - Everyone is looking for more effective ways to market their practices while traditional, in-person methods are unavailable. According to Inc.com, “Sharing visual content on social media platforms is a great way to boost engagement. Compared to standard text posts, images or videos can increase views, likes and comments.”

The Attorneys’ Real Estate Council of Palm Beach County and the Broward Attorneys’ Real Estate Councils’ Annual Law Symposium for the Realtors® of Broward | Palm Beaches | St. Lucie was held October 20th via ZOOM.

Earlier this year, Florida ARECS Board Member Erin Prete of Orlando recommended to the Board the creation of a new Council of Presidents. The goal of the new Council is to bring together the Presidents of the local RECs and provide them an opportunity to get to know each other and share their knowledge, experience and ideas.

On July 17th the Attorneys’ Real Estate Council of Miami-Dade County hosted a member meeting over ZOOM featuring a presentation on the Eviction and Foreclosure Moratorium.
Florida ARECS & the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section (RPPTL)
The Attorneys’ Real Estate Councils of Florida has been a sponsor of the RPPTL Residential Real Estate & Industry Liaison (RREIL) Committee since 2018. Under normal circumstances our Board would be attending their meetings in person and spreading the word about the RECs and the incredible work they are doing; bringing together real estate attorneys and providing opportunities to promote them to the Realtor® community.
Realtor® News
On August 27th, the Attorneys’ Real Estate Council of Palm Beach County held an online webinar for the Realtors® of Broward | Palm Beaches | St. Lucie entitled Support Animals 2020. It featured Palm Beach REC President Michael J Posner, a shareholder with Ward, Damon, Posner, Pheterson & Bleu. Over 340 real estate agents registered to attend, making it the largest single Realtor® event we have ever held! The program will be presented two more times, September 3rd and 17th.

The Florida legal community recently lost one of its finest last month when Lynwood F. Arnold, Jr., passed away on August 18th in Tallahassee. Lynwood helped create the Attorneys’ Real Estate Councils of Florida in 2014 and had served on our Board ever since. But that was not his first experience with the RECs.
